It's crazy how fast 19 weeks have gone by. Especially when I think of how just 10 short weeks ago I got to see our little baby's heart beat. I'm so excited for next week when we get to see just how much our baby has grown. Just another crazy and amazing reminder of how blessed we are. I still don't think I've felt the baby move at all though...anxious to feel it and actually know what I am feeling. The other day I was watching a movie with Ryan and felt a kind of "flutter" in my tummy and told Ryan how I thought I just felt the baby move...but since I don't really know what I'm feeling for...I'm kinda in the dark. One thing is for certain...I can no longer stand up straight and see my feet! I knew it would happen sooner or later...but it has officially happened! I now need to slightly bend over or kick my legs out in order to see my feet. But like I said, I knew it would eventually happen & I'm glad it has! :)
How our baby's growing:
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
